Caring for a child who is struggling with mental health challenges can be an isolating and overwhelming experience. Many caregivers face burnout, loneliness, and feelings of helplessness along the way.
Since 2019, Amie has facilitated workshops for parents and caregivers supporting loved ones living with mental health and addiction challenges, both in Vancouver and online across British Columbia.
In partnership with the Mission Youth Centre, this four-session group is designed to foster connection, reduce isolation, and help participants learn from one another in a safe, culturally inclusive, and non-judgmental space. The sessions integrate evidence-based strategies that have helped many families navigate these difficult journeys with greater resilience and understanding.
In addition to over 15 years of experience as a psychotherapist and clinical supervisor in both public and private mental health systems, Amie brings lived experience as a solo parent of two—now a teenager and a young adult—and as someone who has personally navigated the child and youth mental health system.
